DEMING - The kickoff party for Lemonade Day, sponsored by Solitaire and Lescombes Family Foundation this past Saturday, was a huge success according to Executive Director of the Deming Luna Chamber of Commerce, Debbie Troyer.
An additional fifty young Luna County youth signed up and received their swag filled backpacks, enjoyed Lescombes and Chamber of Commerce sponsored pizza and lemonade, played and laughed as their mentors signed them up for the fun and educational, national program, and enjoyed a bit of craft fair shopping.
Youth, K through 5th, will have the opportunity over the 30-days to use their workbooks to practice, prepare and compete as they ready themselves to make money and “spend some, save some and share some”!
Free workshops are still happening, and registration is still available during standard business hours at the Visitor’s Center, the Deming Luna Chamber of Commerce and Play Sharity.
The main community wide event will be held on Saturday May 21 where Troyer, asks the citizens of Luna County to go out and buy as much lemonade as possible to support our young business owners! “Drink up Deming, this experience will affect our children for a lifetime.”
