Deming Police Chief Brandon Gigante said 19-year-old Alexis Cazares and 17-year-old Jorge Islas have been charged with larceny over $20,000, burglary, causing criminal damage to property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy.
And 16-year-old Alejandro Jaramillo and 15-year-old Ramon Jaramillo have been charged with larceny over $20,000, burglary, causing criminal damage to property and conspiracy.
Gigante said the burglars tripped an alarm at K-Mart just after 3 a.m. Friday when they shattered the glass door on the southwest side of the building near the garden center.
Officers responded immediately and caught the burglars attempting to steal jewelry and electronics valued at $38,000.
Gigante said the four also were tied to an earlier burglary at K-Mart of two televisions and a gaming console.
