The Central Arizona Project – or CAP – Entity will be comprised of counties and municipalities in the region that choose to join, with the Interstate Stream Commission as a non-voting member. A community forum to discuss the CAP Entity will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. next Wednesday,
June 24th, in the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Avenue.
A special commission meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the forum, for commissioners to consider a joint powers agreement to enter into the CAP Entity.
If the commissioners approve entering into the agreement with the CAP Entity, Luna County would be a voting member of the CAP Entity and would have control, along with participating agencies, to decide on how to proceed with the Arizona Water Settlements Act.
