Ami Evans, Public Information Officer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation District One said workers will be performing bridge and roadway rehabilitation operations to Interstate 10 (I-10) in Luna County. Road conditions will include Interstate traffic encountering a single lane drop at times, closing one lane at a time.
Construction began in October and is expected to be completed by late summer 2017.
Evans said the current project will not include any action on the bridge that is commonly referred to as the bridge to nowhere. The work being done is to upgrade a drainage small bridge.
Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, and be cautious of personnel in the area.
Work will be in affect from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
