Organizers say the annual cash party is the shelter’s main fundraiser and draws community members together to celebrate the work of rescuing local animals and the invaluable contributions of volunteers and other supporters of the humane society.
Tickets to the cash party and dance, featuring the Yarborough Band, are $125 a couple. The grand prize is $10,000.
Food will be catered by the La Fonda Restaurant and the Holiday Inn.
Six vacation trip drawings also will be held that evening. To enter the drawings, you either have to arrive at the party in a tuxedo or party dress, or bring pet supplies. The Deming Animal Shelter, located on Onate Drive in the Industrial Park, is always in need of blankets, laundry detergent, pet food, pet toys and other supplies.
The event will be held at the Mimbres Valley Learning and Special Events Center on Saturday, March 22nd, from 5:30 p.m.-midnight.
Tickets are on sale at Circle S Western Emporium or the animal shelter, or by calling Humane Society board president Sande Foster at 546-1566 or member Shannon Bennett at 544-5465.
