DEMING – Here is the local arrest and crime report:
Theodoro Meza, age 68, was arrested for DWI… Manuel Lopez, age 39, was arrested on two 6th Judicial District Court warrants for failure to appear, and three Luna County Magistrate Court warrants all for failure to appear… Armando Orona, age 33, of Columbus, NM was arrested on a Dona Ana County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to pay fines… Travis Bradley, age 43, was arrested on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear, also on a Grant County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to pay fines, and finally on a Dona Ana County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear… Valerie Lucero, age 27, was arrested on a Deming Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear… Eddie Maldonado, age 37, was arrested on a Grant County Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear… Florencio Castillo. age 42, was arrested for battery against a household member and battery… Uziel Chacon, age 33, was arrested for DWI, open container, no insurance and expired registration… Ernesto Ibarra, age 32, was charged with possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamines and causing criminal damage to property.

The Smoke Shop on the corner of Silver and Spruce Street was burglarized, according to the police report, $1,600 in tobacco and jewelry was stolen. A window on a residence in the 1300 block of Santa Catalina was broken, the damage estimate was listed as $500. A Deming City owned vehicle was damaged while parked in the 300 block of South Gold Street. City officials said that the fuel tank was damaged, and it will cost the city about $150 to repair it.
