(Deming) – In an effort to better understand and serve the community, the LUNA Health Council is holding a series of community outreach events this week to discuss a recent report presented to the county by the New Mexico Department of Health.
The Luna County Community Health Profile is a multi-year analysis of various health, social and education indicators compiled by an epidemiologist.
The presentations will be held on three consecutive days beginning at 6 p.m. this Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church, 511 W. First Street.
The second event will be for Spanish-language speakers, and will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Desert Sun Apartment Complex community room, at 1201 Eighth St. NW.
And the third event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Luna County Courthouse basement, 700 S. Silver Avenue.
The events reportedly will provide the public with a chance to review the data, obtain copies of the report themselves, and provide feedback to the Health Council.
If you are unable to attend a presentation, or would like to begin reviewing the materials, copies of the report can be obtained from Health Council Coordinator Matt Robinson by calling 575-567-1185 or e-mailing matt_robinson@lunacountynm.us.
