This year’s logo features a duck clad in a toga, holding the Olympic torch and sporting an Olympic gold medal around his neck.
The duck is pictured in front of the Parthenon, with the logo surrounded by olive leaves.
The top of the logo features the words, “Great American Duck Race,” with “35th” on it to signify the 35th annual duck race.
The bottom of the logo has Olympic rings, 2014 and the theme, “Racing for the Gold.”
The logo was a combined effort of Karl Bennett, Angel Caballero and Nancy Blakey with Karl’s Embroidery in Deming.
The duck races are the fourth weekend in August – starting Thursday, August 21st, and running through Sunday, August 24th. The Olympics theme will be used for judging both the Duck Royalty Pageant Thursday night and the Tournament of Ducks Parade Saturday morning.
