
Starring Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker, the movie is about an ex-convict who gets a second chance, but local authorities want to send him back to prison.
The production reportedly will employ at least 70 New Mexico crew members and 300 principal and background talent.
Deming Mayor Andres Silva said the city was pleased to be co-hosting the filming of “Enemy Way.”
Silva said that as with other movies that have been shot in the region and the state, the film industry continues to find that New Mexico’s hospitality is second-to-none.
The movie will be directed by Rachid Bourchareb and co-produced by Jean Brehat, who teamed up for previous films “Outside the Law” and “Days of Glory.” Allen Bain, who produced “Just Like a Woman” also will be co-producing “Enemy Way.”
The official announcement of the film project was made Friday in the Santa Fe Capitol rotunda.
