During the afternoon of November 8th, an agent assigned to the El Paso Border Patrol Station arrested Jose Murillo-Rodriguez, a 46 year old Mexican National and convicted murderer, attempting illegal entry into the United States.
In December 1992, Murillo was sentenced to 40 years in prison by a court in Cook County, Illinois, after being convicted of two counts of murder and a single count of attempted murder. He was ordered removed from the U.S. in November 2010.
After his capture last Friday, Murillo was remanded to the El Paso County Detention Facility to await prosecution.
