
Voters can obtain paper mail-in ballots or vote directly in person at the Luna County clerk’s office weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Additional locations for voting ahead of Election Day will open on Saturday, Oct. 20th.
Included on the ballot are seven contested local races.
Incumbent Luna County Sheriff Democrat Kelly Gannaway is being challenged by Republican Robert Santana.
Appointed District One Republican Commissioner Barbara Reedy is facing Independent Ray Krejci.
Incumbent District Two Republican County Commissioner Linda Smrkovsky is being challenged by Democrat Jay Spivey.
Incumbent Democrat Magistrate Judge Ray Baese is facing Republican challenger Leeanna Rossi.
Democrat Diana May-Diaz and Republican Tommy Perez are vying for the open probate judge position.
Incumbent Democrat District 32 State Representative Candie Sweetser is facing Republican challenger Laura Boyd.
And for the Sixth Judicial District Court Division One Judgeship, Republican William Perkins is running against Democrat Tom Stewart.
Unopposed on the ballot are Democrat Michelle Martinez-Holguin for Luna County assessor who won a contested primary, and Republican Michael Chavez of Deming who ran unopposed for District Six Public Education commissioner.
