Dual-credit refers to college classes taken by high school students who get both college and high school credit for successfully completing the class.
WNMU waives the tuition fee and Deming Public Schools provide the books, so the only costs to the student are lab fees, online fees, or ITV fees.
To be eligible for dual-credit classes, students must be passing all classes and have a good attendance record.
The informational meeting is set for Monday, May 13th, from 5-7 p.m., in the Deming High School cafeteria, 1300 S. Iron.
Western New Mexico University Dual-Credit Coordinator Jennifer Morales will be available to talk about the program and assist students with registration for summer and fall classes.
The registration form will need student and parent signatures, along with the signature of a high school representative.
Deming High School Counselor Joli Zumwalt and WNMU Advisor Elizabeth Davila also will be available to answer questions and assist with the registration process.
