Organizers say a wide selection of native plants including Flame Acanthus, Apache Plume and Pink Honeysuckle will be for sale, with prices ranging from $10-$20.
Rockhound State Park Manager Robert Apodaca said the Friends group will have master gardeners available to help people make selections.
While at the park, the public is invited to enjoy the parks’ unique geology and tour the native garden. A birds of prey presentation will be held showcasing a raptor, and a hands-on display of animal pelts and skulls will be featured by the NM Game and Fish Department.
Revenue from the plant sale goes back to the park for school group programs, interpretive program speakers, music in the park and materials for trails.
The Friends of Rockhound is a non-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to enhance, preserve and promote the use of Rockhound State Park.
