
A media release said Deming students will be competing against students from over 30 other districts in the state, including Albuquerque, Belen, Capitan, Chama, Eunice, Farmington, Gadsden, Gallup-McKinley, Grady, Las Cruces, Los Lunas, Raton, Roswell, Santa Fe, San Jon, and Silver City,
The STEM Challenge structure involves ten-person student teams creating a prototype or model that solves a real-world problem in response to the theme, “Keeping the World Safer Using Technology.”
Partnered New Mexico industry employers will evaluate the proposed solutions based on quality and demonstration of skills required for STEM careers.
The top teams will receive $5,000 and present at the statewide showcase to be held December 7th, 2019, at Los Lunas High School.
