
Officials with the National Weather Service confirm that record high temperatures have been recorded at the Deming Municipal airport every day since Sunday – and Saturday tied the previous high.
Frank Kielnecker, Observing Program Leader with the National Weather Service, said Wednesday’s high temperature of 107 makes it the hottest day so far, shattering the previous record of 102 set in in 2002.
Tuesday’s record-breaking high was 106, again shattering the previous high of 102 set in 1981.
Monday’s record was 104, two-degrees hotter than the previous record of 102 set in 2008, 2001 and 1981.
Sunday we reached 103, passing the previous record of 101 set in 2009 and 1981.
And Saturday we also reached 103, which tied the previous record set in 1981.
Is there an end in sight?
The record for today – June 13th – is 105 set in 2006, and forecasters are predicting that record should hold.
