This will be the last regular meeting for Superintendent Harvielee Moore, who retires at the end of the month.
Included on the agenda are numerous memorandums of understanding, including an unusual one with the Deming/Luna County Economic Development Corporation whereby the district reportedly will help pay the salary and benefits of a new city/county/school economic development director.
Also, there are routine actions for the upcoming school year on the agenda, as well as an item on the New Mexico State Seal of Bilingualism and Biliteracy, and consideration of the fiscal year budget.
The Meeting is set to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the Emmett Shockley Administration Building, 400 Cody Road.
The meeting will be open to the public.
Prior to the open meeting, the board will meet in executive – or closed – session Thursday at 4 p.m. to discuss limited personnel regarding employee discipline, pending litigation regarding a potential legal issue involving a complaint, and real property regarding portable buildings and a property donation.
