Included on the agenda is approval of the 2016-2017 school calendar. The extended calendar recommended by Superintendent Dr. Dan Lere takes an additional two weeks out of the 2016 summer break, but continues with selected weeks off throughout the school year.
If approved, students would get out of school this summer on June 9th and return to class at the beginning of August.
Other agenda items include the district’s hazard plans, revised fleet service contracts and a surplus sale.
There also will be a presentation on the bond sale authorization.
The meeting is set to begin 5 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the Emmett Shockley Administration Building, 400 Cody Road.
The meeting will be open to the public.
An executive – or closed – session will precede the open meeting at 4 p.m. to discuss Superintendent Lere’s evaluation, pending or threatened litigation pursuant to the charter school reauthorization and the acquisition or disposal of real property.
