DEMING – The Deming school board is changing its meeting procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A legal notice said as a proactive measure to limit the potential community spread of the Coronavirus, the Deming Board of Education will hold meetings with only the minimum personnel needed to continue the critical work of the district.
The notice said the public forum, recognition, and board comment portions of meetings are canceled through at least April 6th – the day students are scheduled to return to school.
The notice said the public can participate in the work of the school board by watching a live stream of meetings and asking questions through the comments section, emailing board members at kim.hernandez@demingps.org, or calling board members at 546-5799.
The livestream of board meetings will be through youtube.com.
Public documents, including the agenda and minutes, can be provided in various accessible formats. Contact Kim Hernandez at 546-8841 if a summary or other type of accessible format is needed.
