DEMING PUBLIC SCHOOLS HONORS VETERANS ON NOVEMBER 11th

Deming High School Junior ROTC will be at Deming Veteran’s Park on Tuesday, November 11, to present colors for the community observance of Veteran’s Day.
(Deming) - Students in Deming Public Schools will attend school on Veteran’s Day, November 11, to  honor those who have served our country and protected our freedoms.   The schools will continue the tradition of honoring veterans through special programs, displays, and lessons.   The public is invited to participate  the programs presented at the various schools.  Veterans in attendance at each site will be recognized. 

Bataan Elementary School will present a special Veteran’s Day Program at 10:00 am  in honor of those who have served their country in the military.  Following the program, veterans are invited to a luncheon to salute these heroes.

Bell Elementary School will participate in the community ceremonies at Deming Veteran’s Park.  Third, fourth and fifth graders will open the ceremony at 11:00 am with the pledge and singing of the Star Spangled Banner.   Students in kindergarten through second grade will have appropriate lessons on the holiday in individual classrooms. 

Chaparral Elementary School is inviting parents and other community members  to its parent/teacher (PTC) meeting at 6:00 pm where students will present a program of  patriotic songs  in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Columbus Elementary will have its traditional Veteran’s Day Program beginning at 9:00 am.  Performances will be presented by students in each grade level.  

Deming Cesar Chavez Charter School will have a special recognition to  honor veterans serving on staff.

Deming High School will open its observance of Veteran’s Day with a moment of silence honoring all veterans, both living and deceased.  The Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner  will be played at the beginning of first period.   At the beginning of each class period during the day, a poem or information for a  different branch in the military will be read along with the presentation of each military  branch’s song.   Staff members who have served their country will be treated to lunch.  A special remembrance honoring veterans will be presented at the end of the day. 

Deming Intermediate School  students will spend their day learning about Veteran's Day through specially  designed lessons.  Visitors are welcome to visit the school and participate with classes after signing in at the front office.   

Memorial Elementary will  honor  veterans at a celebration on its  front lawn at 1:30 pm. 

My Little School invites veterans and families of their students to s special program honoring their service to our country at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.  

Red Mountain Middle School will honor veterans with its traditional “Wall of Fame” as well as a school  assembly recognizing the service of  men and women who have served our country.

Ruben S. Torres Elementary will present a PowerPoint to honor those veterans, both deceased and living,  during its annual Veteran’s Day Program   at 12:45 pm in the gym.  Veterans are invited to attend the patriotic program.
