
Receiving Individual recognition was Tom Arenibas for his outstanding 32 years of service for the district and Manny Rodriguez for his 29 years of service.
Also receiving the award for top performer in the state in class 5A, was the Deming Public Schools Facilities team for their work in keeping Deming Public Schools facilities clean and in good repair. Some of the statistics that led to the award were:
- The Facilities Maintenance Assessment Report (FMAR) that is conducted by the state has steadily increased over the past 10 years. The 2011 data shows a score of 69.59, 2014 data shows a score of 69-89, 2017 data shows a score of 78.25, and our last school FMAR was in the high 80's.
- • Over the past 12 months the facilities team completed 5695 work orders.
- • When compared with 4800 school districts nationwide, Deming performs in the top 20% consistently.
- • 90% of all work orders completed on time, National top 20% average 85%
- • 81% of corrective maintenance work orders completed in 7 days or less, National top 20 % is 76%
- • 99% of preventative maintenance completed in 30 days or less, National top 20% is 96%
- • Days to complete a work order 5.72, National top 20% 9.57
The Ben Lujan Maintenance achievement awards were started to recognize the top performing school districts in New Mexico who consistently keep their school in top performing condition. Senator Ben Lujan was a champion in the state senate for education.
