
The report, compiled by the free college planning service, details that nearly half of Deming High School students in the 2012-2013 school year took honors program courses, with 41% having taken advanced-placement courses.
About 30% of the student body took college-credit courses.
The data further breaks down student interests after high school.
Science, technology, engineering and math “career clusters” topped the list of planned study for students, with about 24% choosing one of those academic areas.
About 15% of the students surveyed last school year said they planned on studying to enter nursing or health care; another 11 percent chose law enforcement.
The report also indicated that over 60% of the students surveyed would be the first generation in their family to attend college.
