
Generally speaking, students in grades three to five saw improvements in Reading and Math for 2014, but scores by individual schools varied.
For middle school students in grades sixth through eighth, the 2014 proficiency results in Reading and Math fell slightly: one percentage point for Reading and nearly two for Math.
But, Red Mountain Middle School saw an increase in the percentage of students proficient and advanced in both Reading and Math in both seventh and eighth grades.
And Deming High School students saw a four-percent drop in Reading proficiency when compared to the previous year, but saw the same amount increase in Math proficiency.
This was the first year assessments could be taken online by students. Fourth grade students at Bell, Chaparral and Memorial were able to take their tests online.
In the coming school year, all Standards Based Assessment tests are expected to be taken online.
