DEMING — Deming Police officials are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
Chief Alex Valdespino said officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of Juarez St. at about 5 a.m. Sunday after a victim said a car drove by, turned around, and a passenger in the car fired a shot at the victim’s 2003 Chevrolet pickup.
The victim said no one was in the pickup at the time, but people were standing outside near the vehicle and saw the passenger stick a handgun out the window and shoot.
The pickup was struck in the driver’s side door.
The car with the shooter was described as a light-blue Ford Focus.
Valdespino asked that anyone with information on the drive-by shooting call Det. Sergio Lara at the Deming Police Department. That number is 546-3011.
