
You can view the surplus items by logging on to www.cityofdeming.org, then clicking on the online auction link.
Once there, you can see the items for sale and when each auction ends, the current price bid and the user name of the current high bidder.
One item of interest online now is a claw-foot bath tub.
Other items expected to be sold online are office equipment and supplies, vehicles, heavy equipment, auto parts and furniture.
Items will be listed for one or two weeks and you will need to register in order to bid. All items sold must be picked up.
City Financial Services Manager Lloyd Valentine said the move to online sales is another step toward the city finding better ways to manage the public’s assets.
Reportedly, the public surplus site will allow residents to bid on items from other cities, counties and even some school districts throughout the U.S.
