The election will be held on Tuesday, March 1st.
Up for election this cycle is the municipal judgeship currently held by Frank VanGundy, as well as council districts two and three – the seats currently held by Roxana Rincon and Joe “Butter” Milo, respectively.
All three offices are for four-year terms, and all three incumbents reportedly plan to run for reelection.
VanGundy was appointed to the judgeship in 2006 to fill the unexpired term of Ray Baese, who was elected Magistrate Judge. VanGundy is running for his third full term.
Rincon was appointed to the city council in March of last year, to fill the unexpired term of Linda Enis-Franklin, who moved out of her district. This is Rincon’s first run for a full term.
And Milo was appointed in 1994 to fill the council seat vacated by David Arriola, who moved out of his district. Milo is seeking his sixth full term in office.
