Assistant District Attorney Armand Velez said 20-year-old Jorge Cardoza was found guilty of kidnapping, attempted murder, conspiracy, three counts of aggravated battery, child abuse and aggravated fleeing.
Velez said the jury deliberated about two hours before returning the verdict of guilty on all counts.
Cardoza was 17 when he was accused, along with then-18-year-old Savannah Holm, of luring a 19-year-old Deming woman to the soccer fields with the intent of kidnapping her.
The woman was accompanied by her 16-year-old sister and a 17-year-old friend.
The friend, who reportedly tried to stop Holm and Cardoza from kidnapping the woman, was stabbed in the abdomen and suffered a defensive laceration to his left palm.
The 16-year-old sister also was stabbed in the abdomen, while the intended victim suffered a small cut on her side.
All wounds were non-life-threatening.
Cardoza was represented by Stacey Ward of Los Lunas during the three-and-a-half day jury trial.
Velez said Sixth Judicial District Court Judge Jennifer DeLaney will determine whether Cardoza is sentenced as a juvenile or an adult. If sentenced as an adult, Cardoza is facing up to 49-and-a-half years in prison.
Holm is still awaiting trial.
