The Bilingual Seal is an award given by Deming Public Schools and has been approved by the State of New Mexico to recognize students who have achieved this high academic distinction.
It’s easy to qualify. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, an ACT score of at least 15, and test proficient on the Achieve 3000 lexile exam in both English and Spanish. Students will create a portfolio of their best work in Spanish and in English and present their portfolios in front of a small panel.
Receiving the Bilingual Seal is a great achievement. Students will be presented with cords for graduation day and will be rewarded with the Seal of Bi-Literacy on their diploma and transcript.
Seniors who think they may qualify can contact Mrs. Hays at Hofacket Campus Room 17B. kristy.hays@demingps.org or Mrs. Orozco at Red Mountain Middle School x2324 room 403. perla.orozco@demingps.org
