
This year’s class valedictorian is Emily Wertz, and salutatorian is Alexander Gors. Both students had a 4.0 GPA, and officials used testing data to break the tie.
Rounding out the top 10, in alphabetical order, are Taylor Benavidez, Kari Dominguez, Adriana Giron, Cesar Herrera, Destiny Parisi, Shannah Rudiger, Kylan Swinney, and Reid Swinney.
The student-selected commencement speaker is Deming High School Spanish language arts teacher Alfredo Reyes.
This year's class flower is the Sunflower, class colors are cardinal red and navy blue, class song is “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman, and the class motto is by Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw: “Life brings tears, smiles and memories. The tears dry, the smiles fade, but the memories last forever.”

Commencement begins at 7 p.m. with the traditional senior walk around the track.
Seating is first-come, first-seated, with no reserved seating. Gates will open at 5:45 p.m.
Parking will be concentrated in the dirt lot north of Memorial Stadium, and Deming Police Department officers will be directing traffic.
No alcoholic beverages or weapons will be allowed into the football stadium.
Also, prohibited will be air horns and other noise makers, large signs and graphics, balloons, and baby strollers.
