DEMING – The Deming School District will be fulfilling a promise made to the graduating class of 2020. By celebrating their accomplishments with their graduation ceremony after it was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DPS staff and the community are invited to the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 on Friday, July 30th at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Football Stadium. The graduation ceremony will be streamed live on the CATS Network. The link is available on the DPS web page demingps.org, and also our web page at demingradio.com (https://www.youtube.com/c/CATSNetwork )
Gates open to Memorial Football Field. Will open at 5:45 p.m.
Social distancing regulations will be followed to the greatest extent possible. Masks will not be required if the ceremony takes place outdoors.
The following items will not be allowed in the stadium or on the field: • Strollers • Balloons • Air horns/noise makers • Large signs • Fatheads • Weapons of any kind • No food or outside drinks • Water will be available for sale at the concession stands.
INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTICE: Bad weather is always a concern in July during our monsoon season. If bad weather occurs, we will move the ceremony to the Deming High School Gym.
If this happens, graduation participants will be limited to 4 guests due to the COVID-19 safe practices and the seating capacity of the gym. The bad weather determination will be made by 6:00 pm and will broadcast the decision on our website www.demingps.org and social media pages. Masks will be required for unvaccinated people if the ceremony takes place indoors. If you have any questions, contact DHS at (575) 546-2678.
