Emergency responders continually remind residents that seconds count when someone is ill or injured, and valuable time can be wasted trying to gain entry to a locked home or business.
But the KNOX-Box program assures that emergency responders have quick access to reach individuals inside without being slowed by having to force their way into a locked structure.
The KNOX-BOX is described as a secure, hardened steel box mounted on the outside of a home or business. Owners or tenants place an entry key inside the box and secure it.
Since the Deming Fire Department has a master key, fire fighters and emergency medical technicians can open the KNOX-BOX and access an entry key in the case of an emergency.
Home and business owners must register with the KNOX-BOX company to obtain an official KNOX-BOX.
