Tee Pickett and Shelbie Peterson qualified in the Junior High Environmental Services and Natural
Resources category.
And Stephanie Swope and Taylor Scepka qualified in the High School Food Products and Processing Systems competition.
Red Mountain Middle School FFA Advisor Susan Swope said the process to qualify changed this year. Not only did these four students have to place first at the state level, but then they had to complete a written research report which was competitively scored, with only the top 15 applicants in the nation in each category qualifying for nationals.
The four will represent New Mexico and Deming FFA at the National FFA convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
Congratulations Team and Good Luck at Nationals!
