
The main item of business will be a public hearing to consider an ordinance to adopt a municipal gross receipts tax up to three-eighths of one-percent to compensate for the phase-out of state “Hold Harmless” funding which the city has received since the state eliminated sales tax on food and medical distributions.
Also on the agenda are mid-year budget adjustments… the June 30th financial audit… and presentation of employee service awards.
The meeting is set to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in the council chambers of the John Strand Municipal Building on South Gold. The meeting is open to the public.
A closed session to discuss limited personnel matters and the purchase, acquisition or disposal of real property will follow the open special meeting.
