
PNM officials said Peppers Supermarket replaced parking lot lights with new LED lights and upgraded its heating, ventilation and air conditioning – or HVAC – system.
Peppers Supermarket received a PNM rebate of $4,223 and reportedly will lower its electric bill by about $3,500 annually.
The New Mexico Office of the State Engineer was recognized for its lighting upgrades, including replacing older, inefficient T12 fluorescent lights with T8 bulbs and swapping out older “Exit” signs with lower energy-using LED signs.
The State Engineer’s office earned a PNM rebate check of more than $2,000 and will save another $1,700 annually on the electric bill.
And Wal-Mart replaced inefficient evaporative fan motors with high efficiency ones in the walk-in coolers and freezers at the Deming location.
This project reportedly will save more than 40,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, making a significant environmental impact.
