
According to a media release, agents near the group were guided by the infrared system to the people, who were hiding in dense brush in an attempt to conceal themselves and the four bundles of marijuana they were trying to smuggle further into the United States.
The marijuana totaled 204 pounds, with an approximate street value of over $163,000.
Of the four people apprehended, one of them was a juvenile from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Then early Wednesday – at about 1:30 in the morning – Border Patrol Agents apprehended a second group near mile marker 52 on Interstate 10.
Two adults and a juvenile – all Mexican nationals – were arrested attempting to smuggle three burlap sacks containing marijuana into the United States.
The total weight of the narcotics was 180 pounds, with an approximate street value of over $144,000.
