
Officials say unused prescription drugs often become part of the illegal substance abuse problem in a community.
Many residents are concerned about the best way to dispose of unused and outdated prescription drugs. Since most abused prescription drugs come from family and friends, people are urged to dispose of their unwanted medications before they unwittingly become a drug provider.
The location for this Saturday's DEA "take back" initiative will be inside Wal-Mart near the check-out stands, and drop-off boxes will be set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents are asked to drop off their unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs -- no questions asked.They are asking you to place any liquid medications in a sealed container, and not to bring needles or syringes.
Again, the drop-off boxes will be set up inside Wal-Mart near the check-out stands this Saturday from 10 to 2. The service is free and anonymous -- no questions asked.
