The official time change is 2 a.m. Sunday, so remember to "spring forward" or set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
Many fire departments encourage people to change the batteries in their smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors when they change their clocks, because the time change is a convenient twice-yearly reminder.
Also, every year New Mexicans are encouraged to use this weekend's time change reminder to update family emergency plans and emergency kits.
You can log on to www.ready.gov/kit to find out what should go into a family emergency kit.
And, again, remember to "spring forward" or set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
