This year’s “Day of the Young Child” march will be led by four-year-old Audi Santistevan, a beloved local girl who suffered horrific abuse by her mother’s boyfriend in Arizona a year ago.
The march will begin at 9 a.m. this Friday, April 27th, with children, families and interested individuals walking to Courthouse Park for a community celebration involving jumping balloons, food, music, games, bicycle raffles, and other prizes.
The event is free and open to the public, sponsored by the Luna County Early Childhood Coalition, HELP-NM, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, and the state Children, Youth and Families Department.
Again, Friday’s march will begin at 9 a.m. at Veteran’s Park, 301 S. Silver St., and end at Luna County Courthouse Park, 700 S. Silver St.
Call HELP-NM at 546-7414 or CASA of Luna County at 567-1186 for more information.
