
David Wayne Daniels left this earth July 2, 2023 after a long illness of Parkinson to visit and stay with his grandmother and grandfather Jim & Beulah Daniels in heaven, along with his uncles, Charlie, Ollie & Jimmy and his aunt Agens. His grandmother and grandfather Alma and James Robertson, aunt Bernice Coats, uncle Buddy Robertson, uncle Melvin & aunt Julie Robertson.
David was born November 3, 1954 in Dallas, TX to Don & Mitzie (Robertson) Daniels. He attended schools in Kaufman, TX, Mesquite, TX and Rio Grande City, TX where he joined the ROTC. When the family later moved to Deming, NM, he attended & graduated from the Deming High School in 1973 and joined the US Air Force as a Security Police. He was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. Later he was stationed in an US Air Base located in Turkey.
After leaving the military, he returned to Deming where he worked for the Luna County Sheriff’s Department, Deming Police Department as a police officer & dispatcher and later as the weight master for the Waste Department from which he retired. While working for the Luna County SO, he met and married Cecilia Saenz and they had one son Donnie Wesley Daniels. They later divorced, but Don & Mitzie still considered her a daughter-in-law. She later married Armando Carrillo, who raised our grandson as his own! (Thanks, Mando!)
He leaves behind his Father & Mother, Don & Mitzie Daniels of Deming; one son, Donnie W. Daniels of Deming; one grandson, Esteban Daniels of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Donna Sue and her husband Rod Johnson of Billings, MT; one niece, Amy White Evans along with grand-nephews, Jake & Erick of Deming, Darby Gerondale and husband Patrick & grand-niece, Paisley of Laurel, MT and many friends. David enjoyed riding dirt bikes, shooting and reading.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, July 12th at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. His ashes will be scattered where he loved to ride his dirt bike.
