Unofficial results show Philip Skinner narrowly defeating Patricia Rooney for mayor. Skinner had 146 votes to Rooney’s 126 votes – or a margin of 54% to 46%.
William Dean Johnson and Esequiel Salas are the top two vote-getters for the two at-large village trustee positions open. Johnson received 114 votes or 30%, and Salas had 108 votes or 29%. Also running were Angelica Sanchez and July McClure. Sanchez received 95 votes or 25% of the votes cast, and McClure had 62 votes or 16%.
In the closest race of the night, Martha Skinner defeated her opponent, Rocio Sierra, by eight votes – or 51% to 49% – for another trustee position. Skinner received 138 votes to Sierra’s 130 votes.
And the runaway winner for Columbus municipal judge was Mona Lisa Shannon, who garnered 194 votes or 73% of the votes cast, to Charles Scanlon’s 17% or 44 votes, and Joseph Rivera’s 10% or 27 votes.
