The breakthrough came when Officer Angel Villa, a School Resource Officer, responded to a summons at Mimbres Memorial Hospital to assist in identifying a patient. Despite initial difficulties in identifying the teenager, Officer Villa swiftly mobilized resources by contacting the New Mexico State Police to issue a Help to Identify Release.
Working in tandem with his supervisor, Lieutenant Robert Chavez, Officer Villa leveraged their investigative skills to uncover crucial information: the missing teenager had been reported missing from Tucson, Arizona.
The teenager was identified as 13-year-old Marcus Tessier. With coordinated efforts between the Deming Police Department and the Tucson Police Department, Marcus's mother was promptly notified and made arrangements to reunite with her son.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Deming Police Department, authorities extended their appreciation to Officer Villa and Lt. Chavez for their quick thinking and diligent efforts. Additionally, they acknowledged the collaboration and assistance provided by Mimbres Memorial Hospital, New Mexico State Police, and the Tucson Police Department. The successful outcome underscores the importance of multi-agency cooperation in swiftly resolving such cases.
In a statement, authorities emphasized the significance of community involvement and interagency collaboration in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
The reunion of Marcus Tessier with his family serves as a testament to the effectiveness of collective efforts in addressing and resolving missing person cases.
