A media release said agents using night vision technology observed three people pushing bicycles and carrying large bundles on their backs approximately three miles north of the border.
Agents were able to locate and arrest two men; the third suspect ran south into Mexico.
A search of the immediate brushy area revealed three marijuana-filled burlap backpacks and three bicycles.
The men were identified as 39-year-old Eliseo Chavez Mendez and 37-year-old Carlos Gutierrez, both from Mexico and in the United States illegally.
The men, along with the bicycles and the marijuana bundles, were transported to the Lordsburg Border Patrol Station for processing, then turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration in Las Cruces for prosecution.
