Late Sunday night the agents, utilizing night vision technology, observed three individuals attempting to use the dark of night to conceal themselves.
The subjects were carrying what appeared to be large backpacks as they made their way through the desert, north of New Mexico Road 81.
New Mexico 81 begins at the U.S.-Mexico border crossing at Antelope Wells in Hidalgo County, makes a turn to the north-northeast and crosses into Grant County before terminating at New Mexico 9 in Hachita.
Agents responded to the location and intercepted the subjects who were identified as undocumented citizens of Mexico.
The backpacks were found to contain 132 pounds of marijuana with a street value of over $105,000.
The three Mexican nationals are reportedly in Border Patrol custody, pending prosecution.
