New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced Wednesday that Warner Bros. Pictures' "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, successfully completed production in New Mexico.
A media release said the production company estimates it spent more than $13 million while filming in New Mexico, on everything from local construction hires to lumber and catering supplies.
The production company also estimates that it hired 200 New Mexico crew members during the course of the production near Playas and Taos.
The company rented buildings in Deming used to store and assemble props and materials.
Maniatis said they also built one of the largest set pieces in New Mexico film history, referring to the set built between Deming and Playas.
The film is scheduled to be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures on March 25th, 2016.
The last major movie filmed in the Deming area was in 2007 when "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” starring Harrison Ford shot some scenes here.
In the spring of 2013, “Enemy Way” starring Forest Whitaker was filmed in and around Deming.
