Picture
Antelope Wells, N.M. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection once again began processing traffic at the Antelope Wells port of entry today.

The port is open daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Service at the port was suspended on April 18, 2020 because traffic at the border crossing decreased significantly after travel restrictions were initiated in March 2020.

“Before the pandemic the port processed approximately 40-50 vehicles per day,” said CBP Columbus Port Director Tony Hall. “December is usually the busiest month of the year at Antelope Wells so it was important to once again provide service to travelers who are considering using this remote crossing as guidelines allow.”

As is the case at all border crossings, only U.S. citizens, Legal Permanent Residents, and fully vaccinated non-essential travelers who possess valid entry documents can utilize the facility.

11/22/2021

Picture
DEMING -  State Police in Luna County and around New Mexico will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and registration, insurance and drivers’ license checkpoints in Luna County and all New Mexico counties during the month of December.
New Mexico State Police say they are bringing awareness to this in an effort to reduce alcohol related fatalities, through continued media attention.  Officials say that the checkpoints are helping change society’s attitudes about drinking and driving.
People are choosing not to drink and drive.  This is the biggest step in keeping impaired drivers from crashing into our friends and families.
This is being funded from the New Mexico ENDWI grant.
