Picture

(Deming) - Fire hydrants can corrode due to UV rays, rain and temperature extremes.

Regular painting and maintenance can help eliminate and prevent both of those problems.

As a community service project, Mission Deming with the cooperation of the Deming Fire Department, has committed to painting the 568 fire hydrants with the city limits.
Members of various local churches and organizations will meet on three Saturdays in November (3rd, 10th and 17th) and enjoy a light breakfast at the First United Methodist Church on November 3 and 10 and Deming 1st Assembly of God on November 17, between 7:30 and 8 am.
Volunteers will then receive their assignments to fan out across the city armed with all the supplies and instruction they will need for the job.
This is the public's opportunity to give back to our community and your neighbors.
For more information or to sign up for one more Saturday, please call 694-2122.
