M2H Charities has New Website

(Deming) – M2H Charities, formed in 2004 in the memory of the late Deming businessman and Luna County Commissioner Fred Herrera, has recently launched a website to help in its mission.
CEO Michael Herrera, Fred Herrera’s son, said the charity has primarily focused on children and young adults in Deming.
He said the charity has grown to 10 unique services and he and his brother, James, have personally funded over $130,000 to provide services to Deming children, youth, teachers and support staff.
Those donations have included awarding four-year college scholarships in memory of their mother, Rachel Herrera… sponsoring 50 area children through Coats for Kids… purchasing school supplies for all Bell Elementary students… donating Kindles to outstanding readers… and honoring top educators with the Fred Herrera HEART Award.
But, Herrera said, their vision is much greater and they are seeking to develop a true "hand-up versus hand-out" charity that builds the long-term capabilities of children and young adults through motivational training, educational opportunities and self-development skills.
Herrera stressed that M2H Charities has no administrative expenses because all expenses are personally absorbed by Herrera and his brother.  In other words, he said, 100% of donations go directly to the children and youth of Deming.
More information is available on the new website:
