The annual walk to raise funds for Cancer Support of Deming and Luna County will take place this Saturday, May 2nd, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and the walk running from 9 a.m. to noon at Voier’s Park across from Starmax.
Joanna Costilla, a patient advocate for Cancer Support of Deming and Luna County, Inc., said Luna County Sheriff John Mooradian is the honoree for this year’s cancer fundraising walk.
Since Sheriff Mooradian is a cancer warrior of colon cancer, this year’s Celebration of Life shirts are white with royal blue printing.
Costilla said there will once again be awards presented for most laps walked – both male and female, as well as youngest walker and oldest walker.
And Costilla encouraged people who aren’t participating in the walk to come out and support the walkers, and enjoy the music, food vendors and team booths.
T-shirts are still available for purchase at the Cancer Support of Deming and Luna County office at 217 N. Country Club Road. T-shirts are $15 each.
