Teen dating violence impacts young people’s school and health outcomes, including increased risks for early and unplanned pregnancy, suicidal thoughts, drug and alcohol use and poor academic performance.
To address the teen dating violence issue, a new coalition group is being formed in Luna County and they are inviting the public to be part of the solution.
The first Luna County Teen Empowerment and Education Network Coordinated Community Response Orientation will be held this Wednesday, April 29th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Deming Public Schools’ Emmett Shockley Administration Building, 400 Cody Road.
Organizers say this first meeting will be an overview of the Coordinated Community Response, and they are looking for community members from a variety of organizations to participate.
