Milo, who died July 19th at the age of 56, was more than half-way through his second four-year term as a commissioner.
In New Mexico, the governor is responsible for appointing replacements to county commission seats when a commissioner is unable to finish his or her term, or resigns.
There is no specified deadline for the governor’s appointment.
Anyone interested can submit an application and resume to the governor through www.governor.state.nm.us.
From the home page, click “Boards and Commissions” from the “Governor’s Office” pulldown menu. At the Boards and Commissions page, click “Apply for a Board Position.” You will then be taken to an application page which includes a function to upload a resume.
Be sure to click “Luna County Commission” from the “Board or Commission Sought” options and fill in the information fields.
