Organizers have instituted “Tuxedo Friday” when you save 50% off the cost of adopting all black, or mostly black, pets.
For example, dogs are $27.50 and cats are $17.50 on “Tuxedo Friday.”
And the latest promotion is “Nine Lives for $9” – held on the 9th day of the month – when cat adoptions are only $9. And animal shelter officials say each cat is still spayed or neutered and receives a rabies shot for that fee.
And finally, during the month of December, anyone who wears an ugly holiday sweater to the shelter will receive 50% off adoption fees.
The Deming Animal Shelter, located at 2135 Onate in the Deming Industrial Park, is managed by the Deming-Luna County Humane Society.
The society’s mission is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the education of the public as to the observance of city and county ordinances, the encouragement of responsible animal ownership, and the humane care of lost, strayed and unwanted animals.
